What is LED street lights ?

LED Street light is an integrated light that use LEDs as its light source. designed to improve roadway safety while reducing energy consumption.

The main components are aluminum housing, heat sink, LEDs, LED driver, PCB, optical Lens, wires and SPD. the led street light performance and quality depend on these materials use and design.

Different designs have been created that incorporate various types of LEDs into a light fixture. Either few high power and low power LEDs may be used. The shape of the LED street light depends on several factors, including LED configuration, the heat sink used with the LEDs and aesthetic design preference.

Immediate restart:

Unlike mercury vapor, metal halide and sodium vapor lamps (commonly used in street lighting), LEDs do not have a problem restarting immediately (hot ignition) following a brief power failure or inadvertent turn off.

Environmental protection:

Optically efficient lighting equipment:

Other types of street lights use a reflector to capture the light emitted upwards from the lamp. Even under the best of conditions, the reflector absorbs some of the light. Also for fluorescent lamps and other lamps with phosphor coated bulbs, the bulb itself absorbs some of the light directed back down by the reflector.

The glass cover, called a refractor, helps project the light down on the street in a desired pattern but some light is wasted by being directed up to the sky (light pollution). LED lamp assemblies (panels) can send light in the desired directions without a reflector.

Reduced glare:

Directing the light downward onto the roadway reduces the amount of light that is directed into driver’s eyes.

Higher light output even at low temperatures:

While fluorescent lights are comparably energy efficient, on average they tend to have lesser light output at winter temperatures.

The most important for a led light is heat dissipation, if the lamp cann`t control the temperature at a reasonable range, then will be serious lumen depreciation and even broken soon.

LEDs:

The most led street light factory use top brand LEDs like Philips lumileds, Osram, Samsung, LG, Nichia. The led types use 3030, 5050 and 2835SMD.

Luminous efficiency:

Luminous efficacy is the true measure of a lamp’s efficiency. It indicates the lumens produced for every watt of electricity consumed. LEDs are more efficient than traditional bulbs with a higher luminous efficacy.

As the newest led technology, total lamp luminous efficiency can be reached up to 200lm/w, but for most of common street light still keep at 130lm/w – 150lm/w.

LED types and brand:

The well-know brand street light driver like Meanwell, Inventronics, Philips, Osram, Tridonic and others, the most of them are constant current Isolated driver, but some other driver companies launched Non-isolated driver to reduce the cost.

Optical lens design:

3, What is color temperature for your LED street lights ?

We offer Street Light color temperature options from 2700k to 6500k.

color temperature 2700K-6500K

The Warm white 2700k light has stronger penetration into fog during the rainy days and foggy days. It is more safety for driver especially at highway road, but warm white disadvantaged is low lumens than cool white.

The cool white 6000-6500K most brightness, higher lumens output and higher lux on the road, but the light penetration the fog not good as warm white.

So, the Nature white 4000k-5000K is perfect replacement for Metal Halide, 4000K is also an option for those states requiring a slightly warmer light. Other color temperatures available upon request.
